Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Remo Stars on Tuesday unveiled Togolese international, Franck Kwame Mawuena.
The former Genclerbirligi player was unveiled on the club’s official social media handles in a video in which the player referred to himself as a “journeyman”.
He said: “Football is my passion. From Lome, Ankara, Antwerp, to Gandia Kishinev, back to Lome, then Niamey. Throughout my life, I have been a journeyman. From now, Ikenne is my new home.”
Earlier on, the Nigerian top-flight club had also unveiled Cameroon goalkeeper, Charles Tambe. Tambe joined the Sky Blue Stars from fellow NPFL side, Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The former Abia Warriors goalkeeper was behind the sticks in seven NPFL games last season for Shooting Stars.
He has also played for FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Lobi Stars before joining Shooting Stars and will wear the Sky Blue jersey of Remo Stars next season.
The Ikenne-Remo-based side has been recruiting players ahead of the unknown scheduled date for the 2022/2023 league season after its ouster from the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup at the Preliminary Round.
Remo Stars qualified for the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup last season immediately after gaining promotion to the NPFL from the second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL).
A third-placed finish at the end of the 2021/2022 league season sealed a continental place for Remo Stars and returned continental football to Ogun State for the first time in about three decades.
The acquisition of these new players is aimed at beefing up the team ahead of the next league engagement.
