Coach Salisu Yusuf of Nasarawa United has praised his team for their crucial 1-0 victory over Heartland on Sunday, which has boosted their hopes of retaining their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) status.
The Solid Miners secured the much-needed three points in a tense Matchday 35 fixture at the Lafia Township Stadium. Yusuf Anas was the hero of the match, scoring the only goal of the game and increasing his season’s tally to 15 goals.
Yusuf described the win as a significant morale booster for the team and expressed confidence that his side would continue to fight for points in the remaining matches of the season.
“This win is a significant morale booster for our team, and we are proud of every player’s effort,” Yusuf told Nasarawa United media.
“With three matches remaining before the league comes to an end, we are focused on taking it one game at a time and pushing for every point possible.”
Following the victory, Nasarawa United moved up to 13th place on the table with 46 points, keeping their survival hopes alive.
