NPFL: Shooting Stars to extend Gbenga Ogunbote contract

By Saheed Afolabi
Shooting Stars chairman, Olaniyan Akoro, has disclosed the club’s ambition to extend the contract of their Technical Adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, whose current deal with the Oluyole Warriors is set to expire on June 30. Both parties are eager to continue their partnership.
Akoro confirmed that discussions to extend Ogunbote’s stay at the club have already commenced, with the aim of starting preparations for the next season early.
“I can say that the meeting kick-starts immediate preparation for the next season and also the beginning of the efforts to keep our Technical Adviser, coach Gbenga Ogunbote,” Akoro told Shooting Stars media.
In their last league game, Shooting Stars defeated Sporting Lagos, sending the Noisy Lagosians back to the NNL. The Oluyole Warriors finished the season in fourth place, narrowly missing out on a continental spot by just one point.
Shooting Stars are determined to retain Ogunbote and build on their successful campaign as they look forward to an even more competitive season ahead.
