NPFL: Sporting Lagos’ fans plan big for Shooting Stars clash in Ibadan

Fans of Sporting Lagos, facing relegation threats, are gearing up to travel to Ibadan on Sunday for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) final day clash against Shooting Stars.
The encounter, a significant South West derby, will take place at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
Known as the Noisy Lagosians, Sporting Lagos will be guests to the Oluyole Warriors in this crucial match. Abdullahi Biffo’s side needs a win to secure their top-flight status, as they currently sit in 17th position on the table with 46 points from 37 games.
The club has called for increased support from their fans, urging them to show solidarity on this pivotal day. “Our biggest Derby game yet. Let’s cheer the boys on in the most important game in our season,” Sporting Lagos stated on their X account. They also informed fans about travel arrangements, noting, “Bus leaves Onikan Police Station Parking lot at 12pm.”
A victory is essential for Sporting Lagos to avoid relegation, as anything less could jeopardize their status in the top flight. Additionally, they will be hoping that results from other matches involving relegation contenders go in their favour.
