NPL Super Six: Enyimba wanted to end Bendel Insurance unbeaten, says Emeka Obioma

Enyimba International forward, Emeka Obioma says their target was to inflict defeat on Bendel Insurance as they played a 1-1 draw in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six Championship encounter.
The People’s Elephant squandered an early lead in the game it recorded through Sadiq Abubakar before the Benin Arsenal were brought back on level terms in the 37th minute through Divine Nwachukwu.
And the forward admitted they ere determined to end Insurance unbeaten run but met a focused opponent, while restating the People’s Elephant resolve in their aim to win the NPFL Super Six Championship.
“We wanted to end their unbeaten run because we are envious of it but it is what it is, there’s nothing we can do, it is their luck we just have to keep working,” Obioma told Complete Sports.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, it was a good game we fought very well and at the end it ended 1-1.
“We thank God for the draw but not that it’s what we wanted, we wanted the three points but there’s nothing we can do, we just have to keep working and keep fighting until we get what we want.”
Enyimba leads the NPL Super Six Championship table with five points from three matches and they will face Sunshine Stars on Friday June nine.
