By Monsurah Olatunji
Ibom Angels gaffer, Coach Usen Ebuk, has vowed to guide his side to a winning start in their first match at home against Abia Angels on Wednesday.
Ibom returns to the NWFL Premiership after a single season in the Championship but the Orange ladies suffered a 2-0 defeat against Adamawa Queens amidst controversial moments, including finishing the contest with 10 players.
And Coach Ebuk is upbeat his team can bounce back from their poor result at Adamawa Queens, assuring that they go all out from the blast of the whistle in order to cancel the two goals conceded in the first game.
“Up to this moment, I don’t understand why a fantastic goal was ruled out in our game last week but today [Wednesday]’s game it’s do of die affair as we have to go all out and cancel the goals we conceded,” the manager said.
“We will take the bull by the horns and see to it that we restrategize, restructure the formation, the tactics of the team to see that we go all out to win the game.
“In the abridged league, you cannot afford to lose any home match and this is a promise to our fans ‘we are going to qualify for the Super Six this season.’”
On her own part, the captain of the club, Blessing Okon, assured of a good display in the cracker against Abia.
“The fact that we lost in our first game doesn’t mean we can’t still pick up in today’s game,” she admitted.
“We are looking forward to a better start-up in our home match and we believe that we’ll come out victorious.”
Abia Angels FC on the other hand, defeated FC Robo by 1-0 in their opening match in Aba last week Wednesday
