NWFL Premiership: I’m under no pressure at Edo Queens, insists Moses Aduku

Head coach of Edo Queens, Moses Aduku says he is under no pressure to succeed at the club in the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership amidst the huge support from the Edo State government.

Aduku joined Edo Queens in August 2022 after he guided Bayelsa Queens to win the NWFL Premiership 2021/2022 season and he got off to a bright start, finishing the first stanza of the 2023 at the top of Group B with 12 points from six matches recording four wins, no draw and two losses.

Despite losing at home to Abia Angels, the former youth international turned tactician has opened up on his ambition ahead of the second stanza of the NWFL Premiership, while assuring improved display from his team.

“One of the thing to expect from Edo Queens in the second stanza is that we are going to take every of our game as a cup final. We are going to be playing with total determination and commitment,” Aduku told Nigeriafootball.ng.

“We the technical crew have to work on our previous mistake we made in the first round and hopefully the girl are taking to instructions. The state government have giving a lot of motivation to the team so it will not be a bad news if Edo Queens emerge as champion of the league.

“But we are taking the games one at a time. I don’t feel any pressure, but because of what the state government have put into the team every member of the team are praying and working hard.”

Edo Queens will slug it out with Nasarawa Amazons in their next NWFL Premiership match at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin on the 15th of February 2023. In the first leg, Nasarawa Amazons defeated Edo Queens by a lone goal as Edo Queens will be banking on their youthful squad to defeat the Amazons from Lafia.
