NWFL Premiership Matchday 12: Bayelsa Queens Run Riot as Delta, Rivers, Edo Secure Key Wins

Matchday 12 of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership delivered an action-packed round of fixtures across the country, featuring emphatic victories, tightly contested clashes, and standout individual performances.

In Ikenne, Remo Stars Ladies were held to a 1–1 draw by Confluence Queens. Aishat Animashaun put the hosts ahead in the 35th minute, but Marvelous John equalised five minutes after the restart to ensure both sides shared the spoils.

In Asaba, Delta Queens edged FC Robo Queens 3–2 in a thrilling encounter. After Kemi Adegbuyi gave Robo Queens an early lead, Delta Queens responded through Princess Adams and Norah Davies before Anatasia Terfa struck the decisive goal in the 71st minute.

Abia Angels secured a hard-fought 1–0 away win over Osun Babes in Ile-Ogbo, with Blessing Okon netting the only goal in the 54th minute.

The standout performance of the round came in Yenagoa, where Bayelsa Queens thrashed Naija Ratels 5–0. An own goal by Andy Faith opened the scoring before Delight Isaac, Vera Samuel, and a brace from Kesiena Ojiyovwi completed a dominant display.

In Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons and Ahudiyannem Queens played out a goalless draw despite creating several chances.

Ibom Angels staged a comeback to defeat Adamawa Queens 3–1 in Uyo. Omon Afensimi had given the visitors the lead, but Mariam Okocha’s brace turned the game around before Eunice Ezeani sealed the victory late on.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels made a strong statement with a 2–0 win over Pacesetter Queens, courtesy of a quickfire brace from Grace Saliu in the 4th and 15th minutes.

Meanwhile, in Benin City, Edo Queens recorded a comfortable 2–0 victory over Ekiti Queens, with first-half goals from Rebecca Adegbemile and Atume Doosuur sealing all three points.

The latest round of fixtures further intensifies the race for Super Six qualification as the season edges closer to its decisive stage.
