NWFL Premiership MD2 Previews: Rivers Angels, Edo Queens & Robo Queens eye first win

Rivers Angels, Edo Queens and FC Robo will be hosting Osun Babes, Confluence Queens and Nasarawa Amazons after losing their openers to holders Bayelsa Queens, Nasarawa Amazons and Abia Angels respectively last week.
Last week opener produced 12 goals with all six home sides recording victories, this week will promise fresh hope as visitors will aim to claim a positive result away from home across the centres in the country.
RIVERS ANGELS VS OSUN BABES
Rivers Angels will be targeting her first win of the season in the 2022/23 Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiershup when they host Osun Babes at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
The seven-time league winners were shocked by CAF Women’s Champions League bronze medalist, Bayelsa Queens after a 2-0 defeat at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa in MatchDay One last Wednesday.
Coach Edwin Okon and his Angels will need to sing a redemption song to assuage the feelings of their disappointed fans in their first match at home.
Osun Babes were in a fine form winning their first game 2-0 at the Lanleke Stadium, Osun State and for sure coach Yekini Ayodeji and his Omoluabi Babes will aim to put up a good fight in the Garden City. 

FC ROBO QUEENS VS NASARAWA AMAZONS
In other fixtures, Robo Queens will also be aiming for the first win of the season as they host Nasarawa Amazons at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The Lagos Ladies were piped one nil at the Enyimba Stadium by Abia Angels, and need to come back with a win to keep their campaign ambition afloat.
ROYAL QUEENS VS NAIJA RATELS
Goup A leaders Naija Ratels will pay a visit to Royal Queens aiming to continue their perfect start to the season.
The ‘One day at a Time’ tutored by bronze winning coach of Nigeria’s U-17 girls Flamingos at the FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup in India, Bankole Olowokere are expected to file out at the Warri Township Stadium following their 3-1 spanking of Heartland Queens at the Sports Complex field of the Old Parade, Area 10 Abuja last Wednesday.
With the help of five of his Flamingos stars, Omilana Faith, Oyinlola Olamide, Adeshina Tumininu, Blessing Emmanuel and Amina Bello, coach Bankole would want to maintain the momentum against Royal Queens in Warri.
HEARTLAND QUEENS VS DELTA QUEENS
Kickstarting their season afresh, four-time league winners and five-time Women’s Cup champions, Delta Queens will have its first game of season away to Heartlands after drawing bye last week.
In front of their home fans at the Memorial Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri, Heartland will hope to give it all after their first defeat this season by Naija Ratels, while Delta Queens who emerged winners of the 2022 Sheroes cup pre-season in Abuja are expected to ride on the crest of victory.
EDO QUEENS VS CONFLUENCE QUEENS
Another team that draw-bye last week will kick start its season journey away from home as Confluence Queens of Lokoja will slug it out with Edo Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Satdium, Benin City .
The Betty Obaseki girls will look to bounce back after bowing to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Nasarawa Amazons last week at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.
IBOM ANGELS VS ABIA ANGELS
Coming from an opening 2-0 defeat that ended with a red card at Adamawa Queens, Ibom Angels will fight it out against coach Ann Chiejine Agumanu’s Abia Angels at the Training pitch of Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
