Heartland defender Nwokoecha Ebuka has credited his team’s recent strong performances in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to a shift in mindset and renewed dedication.

The Naze Millionaires are currently enjoying an unbeaten run in their last two matches, a streak that has seen them climb the league standings.

Ebuka, who has been a constant presence in the team’s defense this season, believes the key to their success lies in the collective change in mentality within the squad.

“The credit goes to my teammates and coaches who have worked very hard and believed in this project. I’m very optimistic that there’s more to achieve,” Ebuka told Heartland’s official media.

“What changed is the mentality—now everyone is fighting for the team, everyone wants to die for the team.”

Ebuka, who has featured in every game for Heartland so far this campaign, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s newfound cohesion and work ethic, which he believes has been vital in their resurgence.

He also stressed the support and belief shown by the coaching staff and fellow players as critical components of the squad’s transformation.

As the Naze Millionaires look to continue their fine form, they will aim to extend their unbeaten streak when they face Sunshine Stars in their Matchday 11 encounter on Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
