Enyimba International Football Club celebrated a memorable evening both on and off the pitch.

Prominent Nigerian businessman, billionaire, and socialite Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, graced the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) week two fixture between Enyimba FC and Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.

Obi Cubana, who was specially invited by the club’s management team led by Chairman Kanu Nwankwo, received a rousing reception from the home supporters at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba.

His presence added glamour and excitement to the high-profile league encounter.

“It was an honour to host Obi Cubana at our home ground. His support and encouragement mean a lot to the players, the management, and our fans. We are determined to build on today’s victory as we continue our NPFL campaign.” Kanu said.

On the field, the People’s Elephant claimed a 1-0 victory, courtesy of Joseph Abiodun’s fifth-minute header, which proved decisive against the visitors from Minna.

The result ensured that the Aba based side secured their first win of the season.

With the win, Enyimba now have four points from two matches, following their goalless draw against Barau FC on the opening day of the 2025/26 NPFL season.
