OFFICIAL: Club America unveil Nigeria defender Chidinma Okeke

Mexican women’s top flight side, Club America has unveiled former FC Robo Queens player, Chidinma Okeke.

Okeke who was part of the Nigeria’s senior women’s national team at the Paris 2024 Olympics joined Club America from Japanese side, MyNavi Sendai.

The centre back has played across Spanish, Isareli, and Japanese women’s leagues since leaving Nigeria where she started her career with FC Robo.

The former Nigeria youth international was at Spanish women’s top flight side, Madrid CFF from 2019 to 2021 before switching to Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israel.

She spent a season with Hapoel Beer Sheva and joined MyNavi Sendai (Japan) where she also featured for a season.

From U-17, U-20, to the Super Falcons, Okeke has risen from age group to the senior women’s national team.

With gradual increase in the number of Nigerian players in Mexico, Okeke became the fourth player in the league after the Vivian Ikechukwu joined Cruz Azul.

Osinachi Ohale and Chinwendu Ihezuo of Pachuca are the other Nigerian players in the league.
