Nigeria’s Dennis Adeniran has signed a one-year deal with Scottish side St Mirren.
The 25-year-old midfielder impressed during the Buddies’ 2-0 victory against Greenock Morton, leading to his official signing.
Adeniran expressed his excitement about the opportunity to revitalize his career in the UK and praised the style of play of his new team. He noted that the club’s vision aligns well with his personal aspirations, influencing his decision to join St Mirren.
“It’s a good opportunity for me to come back to the UK and get started again,” Adeniran said, as quoted by St Mirren’s official website.
“The attraction of European football and the way the gaffer wants to play, his aspirations for the season, it just fitted perfectly for what I need right now in my career.”
Adeniran also mentioned conversations with Jaden Brown and Toyosi Olusanya, both of whom spoke highly of the club.
“I spoke to Jaden. He had nothing but good things to say about the club, and I went to school with Toyosi as well, so I know them, but all the lads have been brilliant,” he added.
Describing his playing style, Adeniran said, “I’m a hardworking player, I like to have the ball at my feet. I’m dynamic and I like to chip in a goal or two.”
Adeniran began his professional career at Fulham, making his debut in the 2016 League Cup against Leyton Orient.
