By Dayo Awoniyi

Nigeria-eligible forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has completed a move to Swiss Super League side FC Lausanne-Sport, signing a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2028.

The 22-year-old joins as a free agent after rising through the youth ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal.

The transfer was confirmed via Lausanne’s official social media channels.

“FC Lausanne-Sport is pleased to announce the signing of English striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji,” the club posted.

“The 22-year-old joins the club as a free agent on a three-year deal, valid until June 30, 2028.”

Butler-Oyedeji gained valuable senior experience during loan stints in England’s League One with Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham Town, where he made a combined 24 appearances.

He made his Champions League debut for Arsenal in January 2025 against Dinamo Zagreb, and later featured in the Premier League against Ipswich Town in April.

Born in London to a Nigerian father and British mother, Butler-Oyedeji remains eligible to represent either Nigeria or England at international level.

The move to Switzerland marks a fresh chapter in his career as he looks to establish himself in top-flight European football and potentially stake a claim for national team selection in the near future.
