Nigerian midfielder Onuche Ogbelu has signed a two-year contract extension with Espérance Sportive de Tunis, committing to the Tunisian champions until June 30, 2028.
Ogbelu, 22, has become a key figure in Espérance’s midfield since joining from Nigeria’s Fosla Academy in September 2023.
His consistent performances have played a crucial role in the club’s recent successes, including back-to-back Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 titles, the Tunisian Cup, and the Super Cup.
The midfielder has made 53 appearances for the club, with his most memorable contribution coming in the Tunisian Cup final, where he scored the decisive goal to secure the trophy.
The club’s decision to offer an early extension underlines Ogbelu’s growing influence and long-term importance to the squad as Espérance continues to build for sustained domestic and continental success.
With the new deal in place, Ogbelu is expected to remain a central figure in the club’s plans through the 2027–28 season.
