By Wale Mustapha

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Abia Warriors have announced the signing of veteran winger Stanley Dimgba.

The 31-year-old, who has had a notable presence in the NPFL in the past, will play for the “Umu Chineke” side until the end of the current season, with the possibility of a contract renewal.

Dimgba joins the Warriors from Bangladesh’s Sheikh Jamal club, as confirmed by Abia Warriors on Sunday.

Dimgba has a rich history in the NPFL, having previously played for clubs like Kwara United and Enyimba FC before moving to South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC.

During his time at Kwara United, Dimgba scored 11 goals and provided four assists over three seasons.

He also netted 17 goals in four seasons with Enyimba FC, contributing to their 2018/2019 NPFL title win.

His experience and talent are expected to strengthen Abia Warriors’ squad and improve their chances of finishing the season on a high.
