Olanrewaju Kayode: Nigeria striker join Turkish club from Shakhtar Donetsk

Former Nigeria youth international, Olanrewaju Kayode has completed a switch to Turkish club, Umraniyespor for a short term contract from Ukrainian giants, Shakhtar Donetsk.

Kayode who retuned to Shakhtar in the summer after completing his loan spell with another Turkish club, Sivaspor will embark on another sojourn with Umraniyespor.

The 29 year old striker who was snapped up by Manchester City in 2018 scored 12 goals in 66 games within two seasons loan spell at Sivaspor.

Umraniyespor announced the arrival of Kayode on Monday and looking forward to see him adding his wealth of experience to help the team in the Super Lig.

”Welcome Kayo, our club tied a contract with 29-year-old attacker Larry Kayode of Shakhtar Donetsk team to his colour until the end of the season. Welcome Kayode and good luck”, the club said.

Umraniyespor are not well placed on the Super Lig log as they sit at the bottom of the table with just 14 points from 20 games.

The arrival of Kayode is expected to see them do the unthinkable of beating the drop at the end of the season.
