Olorunleke Ojo pays tribute to NPFL after swapping Enyimba for Al Merreikh

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Olorunleke Ojo, has expressed deep gratitude to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for its significant impact on his career as he embarks on a new journey with Sudanese giants Al Merreikh.
Ojo recently signed a two-year deal with the club, leaving Nigeria’s Enyimba International.
Reflecting on his career and the transition to Sudan, Ojo emphasized the importance of the NPFL in his development and success.
“It’s the same football. Even where I’m going to (Sudan), I won’t say it’s better than Nigerian football, you understand?” Ojo told the press.
“Nigerian League made me. I’ll forever be grateful and proud of where I started from. So I don’t think there is going to be any concern.”
Ojo’s move comes after a successful stint with Enyimba, where he won the NPFL title in 2023 after joining from city rivals Abia Warriors.
His achievements and performances in the NPFL have paved the way for his international career and subsequent transfer to Al Merreikh.
