Onome Ebi ecstatic after latest Nigeria call-up for Haiti and New Zealand friendlies

Longest-serving Nigerian defender Onome Ebi says it’s “always honour and privilege” on she joined the latest camp in Antalya for international friendlies against Haiti and New Zealand.
The 39-year-old is the first African (male or female) to play in five FIFA World Cups after featuring in 2003, 2007, 2011,2015, and 2019 editions of the Women’s World Cup tournament.
The Super Falcons captain who will be turning 40 by May this year is now set to become the oldest player in history to feature at this year’s competition taking place in Australia and New Zealand.
On her arrival to the team based in Turkey, the former Bayelsa Queens star stated that it’s an honor to earn the national call-up despite her age.
“It will always be an honor and a privilege to be called to represent my beloved country, Nigeria,” she wrote on twitter.
The West Africans will take on Haiti at the Emir Sports Complex in Antalya on Friday and will later lock horns with New Zealand at the Mardan Sports Complex also in Antalya next week Tuesday.
