By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) season, Osun Babes FC are set to announce a new head coach, with reports indicating that Bankole Olowookeere, current handler of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team will take charge of the side.

According to reliable updates from the club’s camp, the management has finalized arrangements to appoint Olowookeere, whose arrival is expected to inject renewed confidence and direction into the team’s setup.

Renowned for his calm demeanor and tactical discipline, Olowookeere recently led the Flamingos to a second-round finish at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Olowokere previously coaches two teams; DreamStar Ladies and Naija Ratels in the NWFL Premiership before taking up the Flamingos job.

His appointment is seen as a move to bring experience and stability to Osun Babes, who are preparing for a competitive NWFL campaign.

The club’s hierarchy believes that his proven record in youth development and player management will translate into success at the senior level.

An official announcement from the club is expected in the coming days.
