Paris 2024: Nsofor, Ajilore remind Nigerian government of unfulfilled 2008 Olympic promises

Former Nigeria duo of Femi Ajilore and Victor Obinna Nsofor have expressed their disappointment over unfulfilled promises by the Nigerian government following their remarkable performances at the 2008 Olympic Games.
The Dream Team reached the final of the tournament in Beijing China, where they faced an Argentina team of Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, and Angel Di Maria in the final.
The tournament was won by Argentina, who beat Nigeria 1–0 in the final, leaving them with a bittersweet silver medal.
In anticipation of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris which Nigeria did not qualify for, an old video of the 2008 set resurfaced on the internet.
In the video posted by Old Naija Football, Nsofor scored a sensational team goal and celebrated alongside Ajilore and their fellow Dream Team members.
Reacting to the video, Ajilore with the username @femfemo asked for their due promises from the Nigerian government and football federation.
“Where are promises and national honor promises for us? Someone should help and remind the FG. It’s not too late,” he commented.
Nsofor (@victorobinna_official) also concurs with his then-teammate, “No be today my brother, promise promise but never redeemed.”
