Paris 2024 Olympic: Michelle Alozie reveals preferred playing position
By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigeria defender Michelle Alozie has revealed her preferred position on the pitch of play following Super Falcons’ exit from the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The 27-year-old cancer researcher plays an attacking role for Houston Dash but currently plays as a right full-back under coach Randy Waldrum for the national team.
She played all the matches at the Olympics as Nigeria got eliminated from the group stages without securing any victories in their three matches.
Days after the exit, Alozie took social media to reflect on her playing position with a touch of humour.
She posted a screenshot of Houston Dash’s lineup from their match against North Carolina Courage, in which she played as a lone striker and contributed an assist in their 3-0 win.
“I’m serious, I’m a 9. I play 7/11 as well,” she captioned a post on her Snapchat.
Alozie has previously expressed her preference for the role of a right-winger.
