Ahead of the women’s football tournament of Paris 2024 Olympics between Nigeria and Brazil at the Matmut Atlantique, Bordeaux, it is imperative to look at the probable starting eleven for the nine time African champions.
Paris FC goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie is expected to start in goal against the Selecao.
In the backline, the quartet of Osinachi Ohale who scored a crucial goal against Australia in the second group game of 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup should be the top choice alongside the trio of Oluwatosin Demehin, Chidinma Okeke, and Michelle Alozie.
Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne, Deborah Abiodun, and Jennifer Echegini will serve as midfielders.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Chinwendu Ihezuo should assist themselves upfront.
Brazil on the other hand, goalkeeper Lorena (Gremio) is expected to be in goal while Antonia (Levante), Thais Ferreia (UD Tenerife), Rafaelle Souza (Orlando Pride), and Tamires (Corinthians) might be in the defence.
Orlando Pride’s Marta who will be making her final appearance at a major tournament is also expected to start alongside Victoria Yaya (Corinthians), Ludmila, Dudua Sampaio (Corinthians), Adriana (Orlando Pride) while North Carolina Courage’s Kerolin complete the probably starting line up for South American champions.
The game will kick off by 18:00 (6:00 pm Nigerian time) on Thursday, July 25.
