Plateau United Unveils New Logo to Mark 50 Years of History

Plateau United celebrates five decades of existence, the club has unveiled a refreshed visual identity to commemorate its 50th anniversary and usher in a new chapter.

Founded in 1975, Plateau United has built a proud legacy over the years, becoming one of Nigeria’s most recognised football clubs. The anniversary rebrand is designed to honour that history while presenting a modern identity that reflects the club’s ambitions for the future.

The new logo does not completely abandon the club’s former identity. Instead, it builds on the elements that have long been associated with Plateau United, preserving the stories, values and traditions that have shaped the club.

At the heart of the redesign is a symbol hidden in the club’s name and, more significantly, its famous nickname — “The Peace Boys.”

The peace bird has been incorporated into the new emblem and seamlessly merged with the football symbol, creating a distinctive mark that represents both the club’s identity and its football heritage.

The combination of the peace bird and football gives the new crest a deeper meaning: peace, unity, football and the enduring spirit of Plateau United.

The rebrand therefore represents more than simply a new logo. It is a bridge between the club’s past and its future — respecting the identity that generations of supporters have embraced while creating a visual symbol fit for the next 50 years.
