The Prince Abubakar Audu University sports complex in Anyigba, Kogi State, witnessed a remarkable display of scoring as Edo Queens FC of Benin triumphed over Kada Queens FC of Kaduna with a staggering 12-0 in the ongoing President Federation Cup round of 32 for Women on Saturday.
Both teams entered the field with a sense of confidence, fully aware that Kada Queens would not pose a significant challenge. The presence of the ‘Yellow upon Yellow’ jersey-clad players signaled the beginning of a difficult match for the Kaduna side.
Mafisere Kafayat opened the scoring for Edo Queens just two minutes into the match. Her early goal set the stage for further contributions from players such as Esther Inyang, Amarachukwu Onuorah, Goodness Osigwu, and Chioma Moses, all of whom added to the impressive scoreline. By halftime, Edo Queens had already netted nine goals, making the match feel more like a training session for Coach Moses Aduku’s squad. The Benin team demonstrated a level of sophistication that the Kaduna players struggled to match.
As the second half commenced, Kada Queens introduced some fresh players in an attempt to change the course of the game, but their efforts yielded no results as Edo Queens continued to dominate, scoring goal after goal. It was a challenging match for Kada Queens, yet they deserve recognition for their courage.
Under the guidance of Coach Moses Aduku, the Edo Queens maintained complete control throughout the match, showcasing their superiority in every aspect of the 90-minute encounter. The fans applauded the team for their impressive display of football skills.
With this outstanding victory, Edo Queens have secured their place in the round of 16 of the competition. They will now shift their focus to preparing for an upcoming clash against Remo Stars Ladies of Ikenne in Ogun State during NWFL match day 11, as the competition intensifies.
