President Federation Cup: Tosan Blankson unshaken despite huge win vs Kwara Ladies

By Saheed Afolabi

Delta Queens head coach, Tosan Blankson has remained unperturbed over his side dismantling of Kwara Ladies in the President Federation Cup.

The Pearls took their North Central opponent to the cleaners 7-0 to cement a place in the quarter final of the oldest football competition in Nigeria.

Blankson isn’t caught by surprise following the massive win as he sought after the Federation Cup title in compensation with their non qualification to the NWFL Premiership Super Six.

The gaffer denounces his players playing under fatigue while referencing the huge win.

“There’s no secret to the huge win, our concentration is in the Federation Cup since we didn’t go to the Super Six, not that we are happy that we aren’t in the Super Six but we decided to pay more attention to the Federation Cup,” Blankson told nigeriafootball.ng exclusively.

“When you say they (Delta Queens players) are fatigued, I don’t know how you knew that. They have been on break for sometime but a team that’s fatigued is winning 7-0.

“Definitely, we have a chance to win the President Federation Cup and that’s our target for now so when we go back, we will seat down. We just played a championship team and from the next game we will be thinking of strategies to win.”

Delta Queens will square up against Sunshine Queens in a yet to be disclosed venue.
