Rabiu Ali praises improved Nigeria Premier Football League standards

Kano Pillars captain, Rabiu Ali, has praised the ongoing improvements in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), highlighting the increased organizational skills and competitive nature of the league.
Ali acknowledged the challenges his team faced following their defeat to Abia Warriors in Umuahia but remained upbeat about the overall progress of the league.
“It’s unfortunate that we lost the game against Abia Warriors, but life goes on,” Ali said. “We’re seeing an improved NPFL this time around. Teams are winning away matches comfortably, and teams are also losing on their home grounds. It has been a massively improved league, and I think everyone is happy and enjoying it.”
One key aspect of the NPFL’s improvement, according to Ali, is the growing competitiveness, where away wins are becoming more frequent and no team is guaranteed a victory on home soil. This level playing field has injected excitement and unpredictability into the league, making it more thrilling for fans and players alike.
Ali also took the opportunity to commend two of the standout coaches in the league, Daniel Ogunmodede of Remo Stars and Fidelis Ilechukwu of Enugu Rangers, for their tactical acumen and leadership. Although he has not played under either coach, Ali expressed admiration for their style of play and their charismatic leadership.
“I’ve not played under either of them, but in my view, Ilechukwu of Rangers and Ogunmodede of Remo Stars stand out,” Ali stated. “I love their carriage, charisma, and everything about them, including the way their teams play.”
Looking ahead, Kano Pillars will aim to bounce back from their defeat when they host Sunshine Stars at the Young Katsina Stars Stadium on Sunday, October 6.
Ali and his team will be hoping to leverage the improved standards of the NPFL to secure a vital win and continue their push for success this season.
