Rangers gaffer, Philippe Clement has thrown his weight behind veteran defender, Leon Balogun over his impactful experience to the Scottish club.

The former Super Eagles international extended his contract at the Scottish giant for another season.

Clement believes Balogun experience will serve as a learning curve for the young players in the team.

He admires the 36 year old commitment and respect to the club despite their high demands.

“Propper has great qualities, he will help the squad to play good football and also will be great with the young players with his experience,” Clement was quoted by Rangers.

“Having someone like him is gold for players like Clinton Nsiala, it’s also why we resigned Leon Balogun.

“We want a top sport culture here where every day we demand ambition to become better.”

Balogun played 14 matches for Rangers last season without a goal or assist to his name.

The former Nigeria international joined the Light Blues from Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in 2023.
