Raphael Odogwu joins Treviso from Sudtirol as Italy-Nigeria forward switches to Serie C
Italy-Nigeria centre-forward Raphael Odogwu has joined Treviso from Sudtirol, completing a move that takes the experienced striker from Serie B to Serie C-A.
The 35-year-old, who was born in Verona, made the switch on 5 August 2026. Odogwu is a left-footed attacker standing 1.88m tall and will bring extensive experience from Italy’s professional divisions to Treviso’s squad.
Odogwu spent the previous six seasons with Sudtirol, having joined the club from Virtus Verona in September 2020. During his time with Sudtirol, he made 134 Serie B appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 18 assists. He also featured for the club in Serie C, recording five goals and seven assists in 60 appearances.
His spell at Sudtirol included the club’s Serie C title success in the 2021-22 season. That achievement marked the most significant team honour in Odogwu’s career, as Sudtirol were crowned Italian third-tier champions.
Before moving to Sudtirol, Odogwu spent the 2019-20 season with Virtus Verona, following a spell at Arzignano. He also played for AltoVicentino, Renate and Real Vicenza earlier in his career, having started out with Chievo’s under-19 side before joining Virtus Verona in 2008.
Across his recorded appearances in Italy’s professional and semi-professional competitions, Odogwu has scored in Serie B, Serie C and Serie D. His strongest scoring return came in Serie D, where he registered 47 goals in 110 appearances, while he also scored 20 times in 56 Serie D matches in another recorded competition grouping.
Treviso compete in Serie C-A, the same division in which Odogwu has accumulated 99 appearances across the recorded Serie C competitions. His arrival also reunites him with a level of Italian football in which he has previously won a league title and built much of his career.
Odogwu’s move to Treviso was completed on 5 August 2026, following his departure from Sudtirol.
