Rasheedat Ajibade meets Osun Guber aspirant Iyiola Omisore, pushes for youth empowerment through sports

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team captain, Rasheedat Ajibade (OON), has paid a courtesy visit to Engr. Iyiola Omisore, a leading governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.
The meeting focused on strengthening the link between sports, leadership, and national development, with discussions centred on empowering Nigerian youth through sports-driven initiatives.
Engr. Omisore praised Ajibade’s leadership on and off the pitch, noting her impact in promoting Nigerian women’s football globally.
“I commend Rasheedat for her outstanding leadership and the honour the Super Falcons have brought to our nation,” he said, congratulating the team on their recent achievements.
Ajibade is from Osun state and recently led the Super Falcons to 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco.
She also smiled home with the Most Valuable Player Award.
In coming days, she is expected to be unveiled by her new team, PSG in France after departing Atletico Madrid in Spain upon the expiration of her contract.
