Remo Stars promote Beyond Limits trio to first team ahead of NPFL kickoff

Ahead of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, Remo Stars have promoted three players from the club academy to the first-team squad.

The trio of defender; Akinyele Ahmed, midfielder; Oluwaseun Odunsi, and goalkeeper; Olisa Emmanuel have been promoted into Remo Stars’ first-team squad from the club academy, Beyond Limits Academy.

The trio signed their first professional contracts with the Ikenne-Remo-based team as they will open its league campaign on Sunday against El-Kanemi Warriors with the three newly promoted players in line for their debuts.

The team under current Shooting Stars Sports Club coach, Gbenga Ogunbote last season qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in the club’s history.

ASFAR FC of Morocco edged the team 2-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round and the Sky Blue Stars will hope to return to the continent at the end of the 2022/2023 NPFL Season.

Nasarawa United, Plateau United, El-Kanemi Warriors Gombe United, Shooting Stars, Enyimba, Akwa United, Kwara United, and Bendel Insurance are Remo Stars opponents in Group B of the NPFL abridged league.

Meanwhile, Nigerian International, Ogenyi Onazi earlier this week paid a courtesy visit to Remo Stars training.

The African Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner shared moments with the lads before training sessions.
