Rinsola Babajide scores on Serie A debut for AS Roma

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria international Rinsola Babajide marked her Serie A Femminile debut in style, finding the net as AS Roma cruised to a commanding 4–0 victory over Parma on Saturday.

The 27-year-old winger doubled Roma’s advantage in the 28th minute, finishing off a swift attacking move to score her first goal for the former Italian champions.

Earlier, Alice Corelli had opened the scoring in the ninth minute, while Manuela Giugliano added a third just after halftime (56’), before Giulia Dragoni wrapped up the result in the 73rd minute.

Babajide impressed throughout her debut outing with her pace and direct play on the flanks, delivering a solid all-round performance:

Her compatriot and fellow 2024 WAFCON winner, Shukurat Oladipo, also made an appearance — coming on for Cecilie Veje in the 63rd minute.

Babajide, who previously featured for Liverpool and Real Betis, was substituted in the 77th minute after an impressive display that helped Roma start their quest to reclaim the title win by Juventus last season.
