Rivers Governor Fubara set to hand over Rivers United to Joseph Yobo

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara is set to hand over the control of Rivers United to former Nigeria international, Joseph Yobo to manage, nigeriafootball.ng understands.
If this remours turned out true, Fubara will be following in the foot steps of his Abia State counterpart, Dr. Alex Otti, having handed over Enyimba to former international Nwankwo Kanu.
Multiple sources from Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State have it that the former Super Eagles will be announced as General Manager of 2021/2022 champions of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
Yobo will be replacing Chief Okey Kpalukwu as General Manager of Rivers United who will be campaigning at the CAF Confederation Cup next season after ending third in the 2022/2023 football season.
The 42 year old captained Super Eagles to 2013 African Cup of Nations, AFCON held in South Africa. He has also worked in the Super Eagles as Assistant Coach during Gernot Rohr reign.
Yobo who has played for a number clubs in Europe including Marseille Everton, Norwich, Fenerbache won the Turkish league and two cup titles during his stint with Fenerbache.
