Robo Queens and Rivers Angels to kick off 2023 NWFL Premiership Super Six

FC Robo Queens and 2021 Champions, Rivers Angels will get the 2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six underway at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the capital city of Delta State

The draw conducted by the league on Monday at Stephen Keshi Stadium stipulated that the six teams that qualified for the Super Six were pitted into two groups of three.

Group A comprises FC Robo Queens, Rivers Angels, and holders, Bayelsa Queens, Group B houses Delta Queens, Confluence Queens, and Edo Queens.

Two games will be played daily on each matchday with the top two teams from the group making it to the final where the league Champions will emerge, while the runner-ups from both teams will play a third-place match.

The winner of the Super Six will represent Nigeria at the WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League, with all games will hold at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

NWFL Chief Operating Officer (COO), Modupe Shabu at the draw ceremony stated that the format used for the Super Six was approved by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The league Champions will be crowned on Sunday, June 11, 2023, to meet up with the CAF deadline for submission of representatives for Zonal Qualifiers.
