Nigerian winger Rofiat Imuran made her debut for London City Lionesses on Sunday, helping the team secure a vital 2-0 win against Charlton.
The victory, which featured goals from Isobel Goodwin and Swedish star Sofia Jakobsson, kept the Lionesses in contention for promotion to the English Women’s Super League (WSL).
Imuran, who joined the team last week, came on in the 84th minute after the team had already taken a two-goal lead, marking a successful first appearance.
The win moved London City Lionesses into second place, tied with three other teams on 13 points after six games.
Imuran expressed her joy on social media after the match, saying:
“If you deserve better, go and do better.. +3 on my debut 🤭. Alhamdulilahi 🤲🙏.”
London City Lionesses will look to build on their momentum when they face Sheffield United on November 2, 2024.
