In a thrilling French Feminine clash on Friday, Nigerian defender Rofiat Imuran delivered a standout performance for Stade de Reims, scoring twice in their 2-2 draw against Chiamaka Nnadozie’s Paris FC.

Imuran, a stalwart in the Super Falcons’ defense, showcased her attacking prowess by finding the back of the net on two occasions, helping Reims secure a hard-fought point despite surrendering their lead twice during the match.

The first goal came early in the fourth minute as Imuran combined effectively with Cameroon’s Charlene Meyong to open the scoring for Reims. However, the hosts managed to equalize on the stroke of the hour through Julie Dufour.

Undeterred, Imuran swiftly restored Reims’ lead just two minutes later, capitalizing on another assist from Meyong. But Paris FC, potentially featuring Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, retaliated once again, leveling the score in the 72nd minute through Kessya Bussy.

Despite her defensive role, Imuran has been a potent threat in front of goal, tallying an impressive five goals in 20 league appearances for Stade de Reims this season. This remarkable feat adds to her two goals scored in six outings during her debut campaign in France last year.

Imuran’s impactful performance earned her the Player of the Match award before being substituted off in the final minute of the game, as both teams ultimately settled for a draw.

With the result, Reims solidified their fourth position in the league standings with two games remaining in the regular season, positioning themselves for a chance to compete in the championship playoffs.
