Newly appointed Technical Adviser of Nasarawa United, Salisu Yusuf, made a winning debut as his team defeated NPFL leaders Remo Stars 1-0 in a match day 26 encounter at the Lafia City Stadium on Wednesday.
Yusuf, a former Super Eagles handler, was appointed alongside Bashiru Muhammad, and has hoped for a positive start to life in charge of the Solid Miners.
Anas Yusuf’s 25th-minute goal was all Nasarawa United needed to secure the three points, with the league’s leading goalscorer netting his 14th goal of the season.
“My mandate is to ensure the team escapes the drop at the end of the 2024/2025 NPFL season,” Yusuf said after the match.
“I’m delighted with the win, and I believe it’s a positive start for us.” Yusuf disclosed.
Following the triumph, the former Kano Pillars handler will look to build on this momentum in upcoming matches.
The victory marks a significant boost for Nasarawa United, who are seeking to avoid relegation this season.
