Saudi Arabia: Odion Ighalo recounts win against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr

Odion Ighalo is delighted with Al-Hilal win over Al Nassr in the Al Riyadh derby in the Saudi Arabian topflight.

The former Watford and Manchester United forward found the back of the net twice as Al-Hilal defeated Al Nassr 2-0 despite Cristiano Ronaldo presence for their rivals.

The Nigeria international refused to take credits despite his contributions, while recounting the hard-fought win.

“The most important thing is three points, because we have had some bad games in the past,” Ighalo told Brila FM.

“So we knew the derby will be tough as well and I’m happy we won and too the three points.”

The Nigeria forward currently tops the goal poachers chart in the Saudi Pro League with 18 goals and two assists.

The 33-year-old forward have had an impressive record in front of goal since he joined Al-Hilal from Al Shabab as he has found the back of the net 47 times in 50 appearances with seven assists.

The Blue Waves will face Al-Ittihad in their next encounter on the 22nd of March 2023.
