By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria U-17 star and Bayelsa Queens player Shakirat Moshood is on cloud nine after winning the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership title with the Yenegoa-based side last Saturday.

A 4-1 win for Bayelsa Queens over Naija Ratels FC sealed their title after Nasarawa Amazons and Edo Queens played out a 0-0 draw.

Speaking exclusively to ATM Sports TV via WhatsApp after the victory, Shakirat revealed that her ambition stretches far beyond domestic success.

“It’s a dream come true. Winning the NWFL Premiership with the Prosperity Girls is incredible, but this is just the beginning of what we want to achieve,” she said.

“My next target is the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Morocco from 17 October to 8 November 2025,” she added.

Shakirat was part of Nigeria’s U-17 team at the last World Cup in Dominican Republic.

She also played for the Flamingos during the qualifiers before winning the league title with the Prosperity Girls.
