In a notable resolution, Remo Stars forward Sikiru Alimi has received a ₦1.5 million settlement from his former club, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), following a ruling by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Players Status/Arbitration Committee.
The payment marks the conclusion of a dispute between the player and the Ibadan-based club over unpaid entitlements.
Alimi’s legal representative, Ogbemudia Endurance Iseri, confirmed the payment in an official letter addressed to the Secretary of the NFF Arbitration Committee.
“We are legal representatives to the Claimant — Player Alimi Sikiru Adewale — as it relates to the above-mentioned decision,” the letter read.
“We write to notify you that our client, Alimi Sikiru Adewale, acknowledges receipt of the judgment sum of ₦1,500,000 due to him from 3SC.”
The committee’s decision and subsequent compliance by 3SC bring closure to the contractual disagreement and signal a positive outcome for player rights enforcement in Nigerian football.
Alimi is currently part of the Super Eagles squad preparing for their upcoming international friendly against Russia on June 6.
