Sky Sports presenter warns Rangers on dangers of selling Nigerian star Dessers

By Saheed Afolabi

Sky Sports presenter, Dan Bardelli has issued a stern warning to Rangers no to sell striker, Cyriel Dessers.

The Nigeria international joined the Scottish giants from Cremonese at the start of the just concluded season.

Bardelli said Rangers will setting itself up for destruction if it goes ahead to replace Dessers who proven his goal scoring ability.

He stated that the rate of top strikers has decreased and bringing in a new striker would mean the club must get it right within a short time frame.

“It’s always a risk letting a player go who has already proven that they can score goals and replacing them. I don’t think Rangers can lose many more goals from their side, but with Dessers leaving, they would lose a large proportion,” Bardelli was quoted by Ibrox News.

“When signing a new forward, there’s no guarantee it will work out better than him. Rangers must be careful because goal scorers come at a premium, and every club is looking for a number nine.

“The number nine market is harder than it’s probably ever been, so it is a risk for Rangers. If they bring someone new in, they’ve got to get it right.”

Dessers is on the radar of Greek first league champions, PAOK Salonica after impressive spell at Rangers.
