Slovakia: Wisdom Kanu’s double assist propels Michalovce to victory over Zilina

Nigerian forward, Wisdom Kanu showed his football wisdom with two assists which helped his Slovakia Fortuna Liga side, Michalovce to a 3-2 triumph against Zilina on Saturday.

The 28-year-old former Trebisov forward assisted Matus Marcin to open the scoring for Michalovce in the tenth minute of play at the Mestsky fubalovy Stadion, Michalovce.

Six minutes later, Kristian Bari evened the scoreline for Zilina to ensure that at half-time, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

After both sides return from the dugout, Wisdom Kanu set up Spanish midfielder, Brian Pena to restore Michalovce’s lead in the 48th minute.

Matus Marcin increased Michalovce’s lead in the 53rd minute before Andrej Stojchevski reduced the deficit for Zilina.

Wisdom Kanu saw 64 minutes and was replaced by Swiss forward, Adler Da Silva and he has scored three goals with three assists for Michalovce this season after 16 games.

Michalovce with 21 points after 17 league games occupy the seventh position on the log. Next up for Michalovce is a clash with Trnava on November 24, 2022.
