Sunday Oliseh urges Liverpool fans to celebrate Trent Alexander-Arnold

By Monsurah Olatunji

As Trent Alexander-Arnold prepares to leave Liverpool, Sunday Oliseh has joined Rio Ferdinand in urging the club’s supporters to appreciate the fullback’s contributions instead of criticizing his decision to depart.

The talented academy graduate reportedly rejected a new contract with Liverpool and has agreed to leave at the end of the season. His decision, however, has not been well-received by some sections of the fanbase.

In a recent episode of “Rio Presents,” former Manchester United defender Ferdinand urged Liverpool fans to celebrate Alexander-Arnold’s achievements at the club rather than harbor resentment over his departure.

“You should be saying thank you and good luck,” Ferdinand said.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold, you didn’t pay a penny for him. He’s one of your own and he’s won it all.

“He’s choosing to leave, not for a rival, not for a team in the Premier League, but for the biggest club in the world. You should be saying, ‘I’d love him to stay but well done.’”

Oliseh echoed Ferdinand’s sentiment, quoting his video tweet with a supportive statement on X.

“Like is often the case, Rio nails it again on the Trent Alexander-Arnold departure rants. The man served you, decides to leave, and you should wish him well!” Oliseh wrote.

As Alexander-Arnold prepares for the next chapter of his career, it seems both Ferdinand and Oliseh are advocating for Liverpool fans to honor the defender’s legacy at Anfield.
