By Dayo Awoniyi

Preparations for the 2025 Unity Cup are in full swing as the Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially opened camp in England, with 20 players already in attendance.

The Nigerian team is gearing up for a highly anticipated international tournament that will see them face Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, beginning May 28.

The early arrivals to camp feature a blend of experienced internationals and promising new faces, setting a competitive atmosphere as the team intensifies training.

Among the players already on ground are senior figures such as Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, and Kelechi Iheanacho, alongside in-form midfielders like Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka.

The squad also includes up-and-coming talents from the Nigeria Premier Football League, underlining the technical crew’s commitment to building depth ahead of the tournament.

Six more key players are expected to join the camp in the coming days, including first-choice goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoye, as well as Samuel Chukwueze and Tolu Arokodare, whose arrivals will further bolster the squad.

Coaching staff members remain confident that the full complement of players will be available before the Super Eagles’ opening clash against Ghana. With momentum building and the squad taking shape, Nigeria will be looking to make a strong statement in the Unity Cup as they continue preparations toward the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Unity Cup, seen as a prestigious invitational tournament, offers the Super Eagles a timely opportunity to test squad depth and sharpen tactics against historic rivals and international competition.
