Victory against Sudan is seen as essential not only for redemption but also to boost team morale and keep qualification hopes alive.

Sudan, who held Congo to a 1–1 draw in their first match, present a challenge the Super Eagles will be eager to overcome in order to claim all three points and improve their position in the standings.
