Super Falcons Rally To Defeat Cameroon In Impressive Comeback

The Nigeria women’s national football team delivered a superb comeback performance to defeat the Cameroon women’s national football team 3-1 in an enthralling encounter.

Cameroon stunned the hosts early, taking the lead in the 7th minute through Kiki Meva to put the Indomitable Lionesses in front.

Nigeria, however, responded with composure and intensity. In the 32nd minute, Chinwendu Ihezuo powered home a header from an excellent delivery by Rinsola Babajide to restore parity at 1-1.

The momentum firmly shifted in Nigeria’s favour before the break. In the 43rd minute, Babajide turned scorer herself, completing the turnaround to hand the Super Falcons a 2-1 lead heading into half-time.

The 10-time African champions continued their dominance in the second half and put the game beyond reach in the 64th minute. Michelle Alozie rose highest to head home brilliantly from a precise assist by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, making it 3-1.

It was an impressive and commanding display from the Super Falcons, who showed resilience and attacking quality to overturn an early deficit and secure a morale-boosting victory.
