Nigeria’s senior women’s national team have returned to Casablanca as they step up preparations for their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarter-final showdown against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.
Super Falcons booked their place in the knockout stage in impressive fashion, thrashing the Cleopatras of Egypt 6-2 in their final Group C fixture.
Before making the trip back to Casablanca, the Super Falcons held a light training session earlier today, with attention now firmly focused on the crucial quarter-final encounter.
As 10-time WAFCON champions, Nigeria will be determined to secure victory against Cameroon, with more than a place in the semi-finals at stake. A win would also guarantee the Super Falcons qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
Victory would further keep alive Nigeria’s ambition of extending their dominance on the continent and claiming a record 11th WAFCON title.
Led by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, the Super Falcons head into the encounter full of confidence following their commanding performance against Egypt.
Nigeria will now look to maintain their impressive form, overcome Cameroon and move one step closer to achieving both World Cup qualification and continental glory.
