Dr. Terry Eguaoje, the founder of the Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN), has unveiled his mission to uplift Nigerian coaches and bring them on par with their foreign counterparts.

Eguaoje expressed his personal commitment to enlightening indigenous coaches, ensuring they receive equal opportunities and recognition.

“I am on a mission to ensure local coaches are given equal opportunities like their foreign counterparts. In Nigeria and other African countries, the foreign coaches are treated like semi-gods, but from records, no foreign coach has won the World Cup,” Eguaoje stated.

He outlined his journey, starting with coaching training in the USA, and his dedication to enhancing coaches’ knowledge and skills in Nigeria.

“I design the courses coaches take in CAF and it’s not different from those being offered by FCAAN. We’re concerned with bringing out quality coaches,” he added.

Eguaoje highlighted his efforts to improve coaching standards, stating, “I started in the USA in 2000, and I’ve resolved to come home every year to help upgrade the standard of our coaches. Already, I have about 45,000 registered members. I have a partnership with Baker University, and the idea is for the coaches to enjoy a good curriculum obtainable anywhere in the world.”
