‘They deserved it!’ – Finidi George hails Bendel Insurance after win over Enyimba

Head Coach of Enyimba, Finidi George has lauded Bendel Insurance’s qualities in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League campaign and believes they deserved their victory over his side on Sunday.
Finidi watched his People’s Elephants bowed 1-0 to Insurance through the solitary 23rd minute strike by Imade Osarenkhoe off an Ebuka Akobundu’s assist to end the first round unbeaten in Group A.
Despite several botched attempts to claim a positive result, the Super Eagles’ assistant coach heaped praise on his men for playing to instructions just as he credited Insurance for their hardfought triumph.
“On the overall, my players did so well and I’m proud them, we have to get some rest now and plan for the second round,” George told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“They (Insurance) did so well, we know what they are capable of being a young team, the fought for every ball, they deserved it and I think we must commend them because they merit it.
“We all have to what all we can and see how we can pick points in the second stanza, my team is good, I will stick with this same group, if we can finish second at the end, it won’t be a bad season for us,” he said.
