Thorsten Fink praises Tolu Arokodare’s improvement
By Monsurah Olatunji
KRC Genk manager, Thorsten Fink has pitched his tent of support towards Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare after his winning goal sent them to the top of the table.
Arokodare is one of the league’s top scorers with 11 goals, which was bettered only by Anderlecht’s Kasper Dolberg.
However, it was the 24-year-old striker who came up top when the two top scorers in the league faced off last weekend.
He scored the first goal of their 2-0 victory over Anderlecht, a result that ensured Genk went three points clear of second-placed Club Brugge boosting their chances of deposing the Blauw-Zwart as Belgian champions.
Speaking after the match, Fink singled out Arokodare for praises following recent criticisms.
“Tolu is a top striker. He is fast, strong in the air, left and right-footed, and he scores,” Fink said, per Het Nieuwsblad.
“What more could you want as a coach? Moreover, he now also carries out his defensive duties, which he didn’t do before.”
